Seniors

Are you looking for a gentle exercise session or are you eager to join a social group to meet new people in your local area?

Here at Perron Place, we offer a range of affordable activities for senior community members. There are plenty of opportunities for you to learn a range of skills and be part of a group in a safe and friendly environment.

Our activities and classes are programmed to keep you active and connected with others.

There’s plenty of free parking and we’re located just across the road from the Victoria Park Train Station.

Mahjong

Tuesday 9:00am – 11:00am
$4 per session
Challenge your brain in this ancient Chinese tile game of strategy. All levels of experience welcome.

 

Chess Club

Tuesday 1:00pm – 3:00pm
$4 per session
Meet with other players and enjoy a social or competitive game of chess.  All levels of experience welcome.

 

Table Tennis

Wednesday 9:00am – 11:00am
$4 per session
Improve your skills, socialise and enjoy a morning of matches. All levels of experience welcome.

 

Pilates

Wednesday 5:00pm – 6:00pm
$10 per class

Build your inner strength amongst a community of like-minded people at our weekly Pilates classes.
Please BYO mat. All levels of experience welcome.

Seated Zumba

Thursday 10:00am – 10:45am
$8 per class

This class is ideal for those who have difficulty standing for a prolonged period, limited mobility and those who use a wheelchair. Movements are structured to strengthen bones and joints. Class facilitated by Viviana Soto.

 

Zumba Gold

Thursday 11:30am – 12:30pm
$8 per class

This class is designed for adults and seniors who would like to keep active no matter what level of fitness they may be at. Enjoy a low-impact workout with easy choreography and great music. Class facilitated by Viviana Soto.

 

Taiji for Parkinson’s

Tuesday  10:30am – 11:30am
$10 per class 

Taiji is used throughout the world as a gentle form of exercise with many health benefits including improvement of balance, mobility, concentration, relaxation and more. Ging Mo Academy accommodates participants from beginner level to advanced, and everyone in between. No prior Taiji experience is necessary and everyone works within their limits.

Welcoming people with neurological conditions and their partners/carers.

Vision Impaired Ballroom Dance

Tuesday 6:00pm – 7:00pm 
$15 per class

These classes are a fun, social way to help you improve fitness, posture and will exercise both your body and mind. Ballroom Fit will be teaching all the popular ballroom dances including the Cha Cha, Samba, Jive, Tango and Waltz. For Vision Impaired Dance classes the leader and follower communicate with each other through touch and weight transfer. Dancing is for everyone!
